Ravenous is the first graphic novel specially created for tablets. Unlike traditional comics, single panel illustrations fill the screen and can be slid with the finger.
Inspired by advances in digital media and a never-forgotten nightmare, author and illustrator Erik Menno van OS laboured four years to bring his dark thriller to life in 600 drawings executed in atmospheric black-and-white and shades of grey.
With the international market in mind, van Os wrote the punchy dialogue in a mixture of English and Dutch and then hired Jon Anderson (IDstream) to edit and localize for the perfect feel.
Synopsis of the story:
Suspected of stealing drug money, detective Hugo Kingsley is put on non-active and his life hits rock bottom. When he wakes up one morning with a strange ring in his mouth, his past begins to catch up with him, literally and figuratively. He is returned to duty to track down a serial killer, has to fend off the attentions of the local underworld… and gets his heart stolen by a shameless young thief with an obsession for the paranormal.
You can download ‘Ravenous’ for just a few lousy bucks from the Mac App Store. If you are aged 18+ with a tablet and a taste for comics you'd have to be criminally insane not to!
